Max Rocks Comfest

Sunday evening, The Trio played to a large, hungry crowd at hometown city festival Comfest. Max appeared wearing a smile and a homemade crown of flowers. Little kids who could barely walk were dancing up front. "Everything felt right that day. Everything felt in line. There's so much love at that festival" -- Max Pouvoir. Comfest is the largest festival in Columbus and is the largest volunteer run festivals in the country. Comfest happens every year in Goodale park, Downtown, Columbus.

Live at the Newport

Friday night, The Max Power Trio played the historic Newport Music Hall. "The crowd was huge that night. Mostly, half-baked 20 year old girls and they were loving us--very enthusiastic. Fun Fact: The Max Power Trio was the first band ever to perform on the outdoor stage at Promowest Pavilion in downtown Columbus, Ohio. This show also featured a guest appearance by Junior Marvin, (The Wailers)

In a dank basement somewhere in Athens Ohio, The Max Power Trio recorded their first Demo. The songs were recorded live, mostly on the first take. Overdubs were done months later in Columbus, Ohio.

Max Pouvoir Origins

His mother was an American born gypsy sword swallower who worked for traveling carnivals in the late 50's. During a European summer tour, Max's mother met Jacques Pouvoir, a male prostitute who felt an immediate attraction to the young American sword swallower. She returned with child to the States where she continued to work as a sword swallower throughout her pregnancy. Her greatest trick of all was giving birth to little Max Pouvoir, named after his father and their Parisian love affair. She died during childbirth. As a baby, Max was won and lost in at least three separate poker games. Max was raised by bluesmen and grifters, and then later on, wolves and a small television that he still has today. He formed The Max Power Trio shortly after arriving in Ohio at the start of the Millennium.
